Greg Parks is a seasoned outreach professional with 20+ years of experience developing multi-year engagement programs. As the public involvement lead for Caltrain’s successfully completed Electrification and Modernization project, Greg worked closely with community and technical stakeholders along the 51-mile project corridor including the CA High Speed Rail Authority, the Caltrain/Amtrak ridership community, and Caltrain tenants such as the Union Pacific Railroad. His experience includes conducting door-to-door outreach, producing technical flyers, coordinating detour notices, and creating leave-behind materials for agency partners and public audiences. His public speaking experience includes presentations at open houses and regional events, and developing a rail safety messaging and outreach program focused on the new overhead contact system (OCS) for the electrified Caltrain system. Nicolas Townes, PMP, is a senior engagement strategist with over a decade of experience leading public communication and outreach efforts on many of California’s most complex infrastructure initiatives. Nicolas has a strong background in construction outreach and excels at managing large teams of outreach professionals, having guided multifaceted communications programs for major transportation projects across the state. His portfolio includes directing communications for BSV I, as well as contributing to the planning and community engagement for BSV II. He also supported Caltrain’s Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project, helping to inform and prepare communities during the transition to electric trains. Most recently, Nicolas facilitated numerous CHSR public open houses, where he and his team employed innovative engagement tools like augmented and virtual reality alongside traditional multilingual outreach to answer questions and educate the public. Nicolas draws on these experiences to deliver effective outreach strategies. For example, he managed the Orange County Streetcar engagement program, overseeing both construction outreach and a robust marketing & education effort for Orange County’s first modern streetcar. In that role, he led a comprehensive communications strategy for the $580 million OC Streetcar project, implementing multilingual community outreach methods (surveys, pop-up events, door-to-door canvassing) and coordinating safety education campaigns about the new electrified system.

Caltrain’s $2B Electrification and Modernization Project upgraded a 51-mile corridor from San Francisco to San José—improving safety, reliability, and sustainability for millions of Bay Area riders. OMNIA Associates staff led community outreach and construction communications from 2016 through project completion, ensuring transparency and engagement across 17 cities and 3 counties

The Great Redwood Trail is a 307-mile, world-class, multi-use rail-to-trail project connecting California’s San Francisco and Humboldt Bays. The legacy trail will travel through some of the most remote and scenic landscapes in the United States, traversing old growth redwood forests, running alongside oak woodlands and vineyards, and winding through the magnificent Eel River Canyon. Omnia Associates recently began working with GRTA to support community outreach, strategic communications and creative materials development to support this ambitious and historic program.

BSVI was a 10-mile expansion of the BART system from Warm Springs in Fremont through Milpitas to the Berryessa district of north San José. Delivered via a single design-build contract awarded in 2011 to a Skanska–Shimmick–Herzog (SSH) joint venture, this $2.3 billion project added two new stations (Milpitas and Berryessa/North San José) and extended BART service into Santa Clara County for the first time. The extension broke ground in April 2012 and opened for passenger service in June 2020, providing a projected 23,000 riders per weekday with a new transit option. Managed by VTA, the project required extensive coordination with BART, businesses, the public, residents, cities, elected officials, and many more to successfully deliver the line in a dense urban corridor.

The construction of the Orange County Streetcar (OCSC) connects almost five miles of historically marginalized communities that previously did not have access to reliable and environmentally sustainable transit. It is a vital link in the push to develop Transit Orientated Communities that links with other major transportation agencies in Orange County. The project also includes a planned rail-to-trail connection to the streetcar project corridor along a former Pacific Electric right of way. The partnership with Santa Ana and Garden Grove has flourished on strategic and frequent communication among all the stakeholders. Omnia and K&A team members led construction outreach efforts for the Orange County Streetcar (OCSC) since 2017, overseeing the development of innovative, culturally-sensitive outreach materials designed to educate children, schools, and the broader community about project scope and essential safety awareness for this new transit system and its electrical infrastructure. The collateral materials our team managed included a children’s safety coloring book with accompanying parent hand out in both English and Spanish, a movie trailer ad to dive business to the area during construction, and flyers for community meetings for both Spanish and English. Our team also spearheaded OCTA’s Eat, Shop, Play program, which has grown to support more than 50 impacted businesses along the future OC Streetcar route. The program promotes increased visibility for businesses during construction by providing free targeted marketing assistance, including social media ads, e-newsletter spotlights and professional photography and videography. The first OC Streetcar train arrived for testing in 2025 and is on-schedule for revenue service in 2026
